What a Perfect Fall Day in Denver Looks Like
Denver is a world-class city with plenty of things for locals and visitors to enjoy. Here's how you can spend the perfect fall day in The Mile High City.
Start Your Day Off With a Hike
The fall is the perfect time to explore the many hiking trails in the area, so lace up your sneakers and get out for some exercise first thing in the morning. During this season, the heat of summer has faded, but the cold of winter has not yet set in, making the weather comfortable for enjoying outdoor activities. Don't forget to bring along plenty of water, and slather on sunscreen before you head out as well. The atmosphere is much thinner at this high altitude, so you are likely to get a sunburn a lot faster. The air is thinner as well, so take frequent breaks and head back if you start to feel lightheaded.
Grab a Bite Near the Capitol
Denver's Capitol Building is situated one mile above sea level and is a major tourist attraction. Now that you have worked up an appetite with your morning hike, take a break for lunch. Look for cafés with outdoor seating so that you can continue to take advantage of the beautiful weather. This will also give you the opportunity to take in the sights, enjoy some people-watching and get your energy back up for the rest of the day.
Denver's arts district is home to a wide range of galleries featuring many different styles of art. The area is highly walkable, so spend a bit of time wandering in and out of the various galleries. You are sure to find something to suit your fancy. The curators in these galleries are always happy to answer your questions and tell you more about the artists and their work.
Take in a Show
The Denver Performing Arts Complex puts on numerous events and productions throughoutBut the year. From musicals to ballets to concerts and more, there is something to suit just about every taste and interest. Be sure to book your tickets well in advance, as many productions sell out. Formal attire is not strictly required, although most theater patrons do tend to dress up, so plan your wardrobe accordingly.
Cap it Off With a Drink
Since you are all dressed up after the theater, there is no sense heading home or back to your hotel right away. Instead, stop in at The Crimson Room for a nightcap. Our bar features live jazz music every night in an elegant, classy environment. Expert bartenders serve up delicious cocktails, and we also serve an extensive selection of beer and wine. We welcome you to peruse our menu before you come in to get excited about all the delicious drinks you can have. We look forward to seeing you soon!
